Our lab and Marquette University have the following capability for materials/metallurgy research.

Materials manufacturing:

We are pursuing a hot isostatic press (HIP) system. We also have access to a EOS100 laser powder bed fusion system (located at dental school).

Materials preparation:

We have high temperature box/tube furnaces (1500C) and grinding/lapping/polishing units. Some organizations and cleaning will be done.

Materials characterizations:

We have scanning electron microscope, optical microscope, Bruker X-ray microtomography (located at dental school), high temperature DSC (1500C, located at dental school), X-ray diffraction (located at chemistry department).

Mechanical testings:

We have MTS tensile/fatigue testing frame, high temperature creep testing frame (1200C), hardness testing. Some assembly work will be needed.
